DAY ONE (SPRING FORWARD) By: J. Ivy Fools act foolish for no reason, April showers spring forward new season, Old habits clash with new meanings, Revelations that have souls rejoicing and screaming, Your mind's singing new tunes, Wish you would have learned this back then but it was too soon, Like heavy drinking before noon, Stomachs turn and you regurgitate your gloom, Your sorrow, Mind gone... You forgot about tomorrow, Cause the days have grown long, The same feelings have gone on, But finally you're tired of singing that song, So you remix your fix, Re-edit your flick, Re-plant your stick, your staff, your flag, You re-govern your nation, Rewrite the laws to deal with the new wars you're facing, Cause you can't rewind the clocks on the time you're waisting, Sometimes in order to spring forward you have to fall back, Cast yourself while you wait for the call back, You we're made in the heavens so yes you're all that, You can't switch on your dreams, you ain't all back, I'd rather be all heart and beat the streets every time the day starts, Every time the night dances with the stars, I get charged, Life's a fight but everyday I've sparred with obstacles and decisions, Working on living well is my religion, I thank GOD for his precision, HIS MERCY, HIS GRACE, I'm no fool, I'm HIS Son, If you look deep enough into my eyes, You'll see HIS FACE...
